About the Business
Byte me was put together in 2009 as a computer support business for local businesses around Somerset. Since August 2009, when the business first started there was a demand for IT training and business consultancy. Following a review of the business plan and the mission statement it was decided that the business would go ahead as an IT training company and business IT consultancy. The growth of the business has been down to that decision and over the past 12 months we have continued to grow and provide more services.

...and the owner?
The owner of the business, Trevor Smith, has been in IT for more than two decades, working as an engineer, providing software supports, building PCs and working for large organisations, including BT and DSGI. He has a number of professional qualifications within the IT sector and recently qualified as an IT Trainer, which allowed him to become a full member of the Institute of IT trainers. Trevor is experienced with both Apple and Windows based systems, including setting up systems that uses both.

Where is the business going now?
Over the last 12 months the business has supported local businesses in both Somerset and Devon, occasionally going down to Cornwall to provide support, training and guidance. We also provided support overseas.
As the company begins to grow we will be looking at employing new staff to support our customers. Presently the business operates from home, however as the growth continues we will be looking at moving into a more commercial location.
As well as offering our customers training and consultancy we have now looked at including a couple of new services; website clinic and IT support. We have also adopted a new service, where are we help businesses that are downsizing and moved their equipment to the new location.
